Adding & Editing Words
A "New word" button is reachable from any page in WeaveWords — you don't need to open a collection first. Type a word, click Translate, and AI fills in the translation and example sentences for you.
Open the New Word form. Click "New Word" in the header (visible on every page) or on the dashboard. If you've just typed something into the search bar, it carries over into the word field automatically.
Type the word or phrase. Enter it in your learning language — a single word or a short phrase both work.
Click Translate. This is a manual step — translation doesn't happen automatically as you type. Click the Translate button and WeaveWords generates a set of candidate translations plus real example sentences in both languages.
Choose a translation and confirm the part of speech. Click a suggested translation to select it (or edit it directly), and set the part of speech from the dropdown — WeaveWords makes a best guess, but you can change it.
Optionally add an image or pronunciation. Click "Add image" to upload a photo, search stock images, or generate one with AI Pro. Click "Pronunciation" to record yourself saying the word Pro — recording stops and automatically runs an AI accuracy check in one step, no separate "check" button needed.
Save the word. Click "Save word" to add it to your currently active collection, or switch collections first from the breadcrumb selector above the form.
To edit a word later, click it from your dashboard, a collection, or search results — the same translation, image, and pronunciation tools are available in the edit form.
